Melissa Caballero Dunn is the Managing Partner at Merel Family Law, where she has focused exclusively on family law since 2008. Her practice encompasses a broad range of matters, including divorce, child custody disputes, child support, alimony, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence cases, adoption proceedings, and other family-related legal concerns. She is also a certified mediator and has training in collaborative divorce, allowing her to approach family disputes through both litigation and alternative resolution methods.
Known for combining legal knowledge with an understanding of the personal challenges that accompany family disputes, Dunn works to help clients navigate difficult circumstances with clarity and purpose. Her experience extends to representing parents and families in custody matters, including cases in which judges appoint her to advocate for the interests of minor children. As Managing Partner, she also brings a broad perspective to the firm's operations and client representation.
Dunn's professional recognition includes being named to the 2023 Forty Under 40 class and recognition as a Super Lawyer. She is admitted to practice in Illinois and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign before receiving her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
