About KRISTINA
Kristina Buchthal Alkass is a Partner at Lavelle Law, where she focuses her practice on family and divorce law as well as litigation. She represents clients in sensitive matters involving divorce, custody, parenting issues, and domestic violence, with an approach centered on thorough preparation and strong courtroom advocacy. Kristina believes careful preparation for hearings and trials can help position clients for favorable settlements while reducing the risks and costs associated with prolonged litigation.
Kristina earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and her B.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She is admitted to practice before the Illinois Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Her professional recognition includes being named a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2014 through 2018. She also volunteers with Between Friends, supporting survivors of domestic abuse through legal advocacy and community service.
