About Steven
Steven M. Levin is a Chicago-based trial attorney and the Founder and Senior Partner of Levin & Perconti. Since beginning his legal career in 1976, he has devoted his practice to representing individuals and families affected by serious personal injuries, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, and wrongful death. He co-founded Levin & Perconti in 1992, helping develop the firm from a small practice into a larger plaintiff-focused litigation firm handling complex injury and death cases. His work has included birth injuries, catastrophic medical negligence, workplace injuries, and cases involving the failure to provide appropriate care.
A significant part of Levin’s career has centered on protecting nursing home residents and pursuing claims involving abuse, neglect, and inadequate care. He was among the early attorneys to focus extensively on nursing home litigation and became a founding member and original officer of the American Association for Justice Nursing Home Litigation Group. His advocacy has extended beyond individual cases through involvement with organizations and initiatives focused on improving the rights and protections of older adults and long-term care residents. He has also written and spoken extensively on nursing home litigation, trial strategy, personal injury, and wrongful death matters.
Levin has handled numerous high-value personal injury and wrongful death matters, with reported results involving medical malpractice, birth injuries, nursing home negligence, and other catastrophic injuries. His professional recognition includes listings in The Best Lawyers in America, Illinois Super Lawyers, and Leading Lawyers, among other honors. He is admitted to practice in Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
