Paul D. Powell is a Chicago personal injury attorney and a member of the legal team at Powell and Pisman Injury Lawyers. He has represented individuals and families in complex personal injury matters for nearly two decades, advocating for clients against insurance companies, corporations, and other parties following serious accidents and injuries.
Powell began his legal career in 2000 as a law clerk for Chief Justice Myron E. Leavitt of the Supreme Court of Nevada before joining the Nevada litigation firm Lionel Sawyer & Collins. He transitioned into personal injury practice in 2003 and has since developed extensive experience handling high-value claims involving automobile accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle crashes, rideshare accidents, pedestrian injuries, brain injuries, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death.
According to his firm, Powell’s settlements and paid jury verdicts have exceeded $250 million over the last decade, with more than 75 cases resulting in settlements of $1 million or more. His work is centered on pursuing compensation for clients whose lives have been significantly affected by preventable accidents and serious injuries.
Powell is admitted to practice in Nevada and Illinois and is also admitted before the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada. His professional memberships include the American Association for Justice, American Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Chicago Bar Association, Nevada Justice Association, and the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America.
