About Rachel
Rachel E. Lara is an experienced criminal defense attorney with Attorneys of Idaho in Boise, Idaho, focusing her practice on domestic violence defense and crimes against persons. She represents clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges and brings substantial courtroom experience to cases involving serious allegations. Her approach combines careful preparation, clear communication, and a strong commitment to protecting the rights of people navigating the criminal justice system.
Before joining Attorneys of Idaho, Rachel represented clients through the Ada County Public Defender’s Office, where she handled misdemeanor and felony cases and took more than 30 cases to verdict. She specifically requested an assignment to Domestic Violence Court, where she developed focused experience with the complex dynamics that can arise between accused individuals, victims, families, and the justice system. That experience continues to shape her approach to domestic violence cases and other allegations involving crimes against persons.
Rachel also serves on the Idaho Supreme Court’s Domestic Violence Advisory Team, working alongside judges, prosecutors, victim-witness coordinators, and other professionals involved in the justice system. She continues to pursue training related to domestic violence relationships, reactive-victim and aggressor dynamics, and other issues that can affect these cases. Through Attorneys of Idaho, she represents clients in Boise, Ada County, and throughout Idaho with a focus on thoughtful, informed, and determined criminal defense.
